Our “lovebirds in a tree” theme stemmed from multiple factors: (1) Corey proposed on a Christmas tree farm in the mountains. (2) After we got home, we found a bird’s nest in our Christmas tree. (3) We got married under a tree. (4) We can’t wait to grow our family tree. (5) I really just like birds. A lot.
Corey and I decided to give out these adorable lovebird christmas ornaments as favors, in honor of our “lovebirds” theme and christmas tree farm engagement. If you look closely at the pic below, you can see my ring hanging on the Christmas tree after Corey proposed 🙂
For the favor bags, I bought small brown bags, doilies and those cute little Martha Stewart labels at Michaels. I printed the labels via word, then stuffed the bag with brown gift bag filler (kind of like this, to look like a bird’s nest).
The green framed sign sitting at the gift table was another DIY project I did. It read: “On the side of a mountain, in the midst of hundreds of Christmas trees, Corey got down on one knee and asked Susannah to marry him. And so began forever & a thousand Christmases together. Please take an ornament home in honor of the lovebirds… and hang it on your next Christmas tree!”
